Connect your class with a Co-Mo Lineman for a fun learning experience all April long!

April is National Lineworker Appreciation Month, and we’re inviting local classrooms to participate in our Power Pals Pen Pal Program. Your class will be paired with a real Co-Mo lineman and get the opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect with their own lineman.

What Is Power Pals?

Power Pals is a guided, classroom-friendly pen pal program that connects students with local linemen.

Students will:

  • Learn what linemen do and why their work matters

  • Ask real questions about the job

  • Exchange letters throughout April

  • Gain a better understanding of electric cooperatives

What Does Participation Look Like?

We’ve designed this to be simple and easy to fit into your schedule.

  • Activities take about 20–30 minutes per week

  • Optional lesson plan materials and guidance are provided

  • Communication is handled digitally (no mailing required)

Classroom Goodies:

  • Each classroom will be provided a copy of the book "A Lineman's Day with Co-Mo Joe" to help students gain background knowledge of cooperatives and linework before they meet their lineman.

  • Upon request, older classrooms may request copies of "Zap Slap," our electric safety card game.

  • All participating classrooms will be put into a drawing for a chance to win a pizza party.

  • Every student will receive some Co-Mo swag after they complete the program.
