Jason Bradley Martin - District 2
My name is Jason Martin, and I am seeking re-election to the Board of Directors seat representing District 2. Over the past three years, it has been a privilege to serve our members, and I’ve gained invaluable knowledge about the Electric and Broadband industries.
Let me share a little about my background. My wife, Katie, and I were both born and raised in Tipton, and it’s here that we have chosen to raise our three children—Grady (14), Levi (12), and Cora (10). Rural Missouri is not just where we live; it’s shaped who we are. The values we hold dear, especially when it comes to raising our children and preparing them for the future, are deeply rooted in this community.
I am the son of Mary and the late Bob Martin, and Katie’s parents are Richard and Kate Williams. After we married in 2004, Katie and I purchased a small plot of land in Cooper County. Nine years later, we moved back to Tipton, where we built our home on 18 acres of my family’s farm. We are active members of the First Christian Church in Tipton.
After graduating from Tipton High School, I pursued an AAS and BS degree in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management at Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, SC. Though I briefly lived on the East Coast, I quickly returned home to the Midwest. In 2004, I began my career at the Isle of Capri Casino Hotel in Boonville as a chef. Over the years, I held various positions, including Sous Chef, Chef De’ Cuisine, Executive Chef, and Food and Beverage Manager. In 2015, I transitioned to a new role as Director of Dining Services with EverTrue at Lenoir Woods in Columbia, where I oversee 75 employees and serve over 550 residents in a Continuing Care Residential Community. Caring for older adults has become a passion of mine. I hold a Nursing Home Administrator License and am dedicated to ensuring that older adults live their lives to the fullest.
During my time on the board, I have fully immersed myself in learning about the Electric and Broadband industries. I’ve had the privilege of working closely with the management team and my fellow board members as we navigate the many challenges we face as members. This experience has been truly eye-opening, and I am grateful for the trust placed in me to take on this role. I have earned my credentials as a Certified Cooperative Director and am currently working toward Board Leadership Certification.
If re-elected as your Board Director for District 2, I will continue to prioritize our members’ needs, ensuring access to superior electric and broadband services while upholding our Core Values and Principles. I humbly ask for your vote, so I can continue this journey of serving our members and making a positive impact in our community.
Thank you.
