Steven Ray Huth

District 2 Candidate

I was raised and still currently live just south of Boonville, in Cooper County. I have been married for 39 years to my wife Diana and we have a son Trever. Along with my family, I own and operate Huth Farms LLC. As a co-manager of the operation, we run a medium size row crop operation growing corn, soybeans and cover crops. We have been able to establish a large purebred and commercial Angus cattle herd using AI. This allows us to retain all our own replacement breeding stock and run a 100% closed herd. The farm also sells purebred breeding bulls throughout central Missouri by word of mouth. Livestock that is not kept for replacement are fed in western Kansas. We retain ownership until sold as fat cattle.

I graduated from Prairie Home High School, and attended Boonslick Technical Education Center. As a member of Boonville FFA Chapter, I served as Sentinel. I attended University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg studying Ag-Mechanics and then returned home to farm and ranch full time.

I served on the Missouri Cattlemen’s State Board as Feeder Council Chairman for 2 years.  I also served on Cooper County Cattlemen’s board for 25 years, where I was a member and held various offices including President. I am a member of the Cooper County Soil & Water District Board of Directors. There I have served as Director for 2 years and Chairman of the Board for the past 10 years. I am also currently serving as a Delegate for the MFA Oil Co.

Throughout my time on the Cattlemen’s and Soil & Water boards, I have had the opportunity to meet and work with both national & state level officials. Through the NRCS and DNR we were able to implement conservation practices for the landowners in Cooper County. While serving on these boards, there have been multiple times that required me to make tough decisions.  I was able to do so for the betterment of those that we as the board are here to serve.

If I am elected to serve as part of the District 2 Co-Mo Electric Cooperative Board of Directors, I will bring a common sense, level headed approach to the board. Throughout the years, I have learned that good employees are a must. Employees are the face of the cooperative in the community we serve. I believe the board, CEO, management & employees must work together as a team to better serve our electric customers and to widen the foot print of Co-Mo Connect fiber optic. As technology grows, Co-Mo needs to stay on the cutting edge at all times and be ready to better serve the current customers and also acquire new customers. I will strive to listen to customer’s concerns and respond in a timely manner.

It would be an honor to serve and represent District 2 on the Co-Mo Electric Cooperative Board of Directors. I appreciate your vote.
