Omie Johnson - District 3

My name is Omie Johnson, I live on a farm in Moniteau county just outside of Jamestown. I have lived in Moniteau county since 1978 when my family moved here from the St. Louis area. I am one of six children. My family has always been in to living the county life and growing a large garden. One of my favorite life lessons is my mother taught me how to can our produce and store food and it has been a very rewarding and valued lesson. My father started a chimney cleaning and repair company in 1982. I started full time working for my family’s business in the fall of 1993. My father started me out working with the masonry crew tearing down and rebuilding chimneys. I have since worked in all aspects of our family’s business from the masonry crew, chimney cleaning crew to sales and running the operations. My brother and I have recently taken over the family business in the summer of 2022. I have enjoyed working with the public and getting to know my customer base over the last 30 years. I am a Certified Chimney Sweep and a Certified Hearth Design Specialist. I currently serve on the board for the Mid West Hearth Patio and BBQ Association and have for the last two years. I love to promote our industry and wood burning products. I also am very interested in learning about the constantly changing rules and regulations that the EPA has enforced and currently enforcing on the wood burning portion of our industry. I hope to keep learning and providing a better product for my customers and continue my role in this business and industry for a very long time.

I am a mom to two children a proud nana to four beautiful grandbabies. I enjoy spending time with them all, riding horses, working on the farm, running and spending time with my extended family. My hope in running for this position on the board is to bring a fresh perspective based off of my hearth background as well as my passion for helping my community and county. Thank you so much for your consideration.
