Operation Round Up

Members of Co-Mo Electric Cooperative are participating in an innovative program that collects and distributes funding in its service boundaries to all kinds of worthwhile activities in Benton, Camden, Cole, Cooper, Moniteau, Morgan, Miller, Pettis and Saline counties.  It's called "Operation Round Up".

How it works: Electric bills are "rounded up" to the next highest dollar each month.   For example, if a month's bill is $52.71, it is rounded up to $53, with 29 cents going directly into the Operation Round Up fund.  A monthly donation may be as little as a penny or as much as 99 cents.  The average member contributes an estimated average of just more than $6 per year.

How the money is distributed: The Co-Mo Cares Trust Inc. trustees, made up of nine volunteer community leaders from our service area, evaluate and award requests for assistance from Operation Round Up.  Trustees are appointed by Co-Mo's Board of Directors.

What the money is used for: The money raised will pay for such things as food, shelter, clothing and health care.   Donations will also be made to community services such as rescue squads and ambulance districts.  A portion of the funds will also be used for scholarships in our service area.  None of the money is used to pay electric bills owed to Co-Mo Electric Cooperative or for political campaigns and issues.

How Co-Mo members sign up: Easy. Click here to download a form. Then return it to your local office. Additional contributions may be made by contacting Co-Mo. Contributions to Operation Round Up are tax deductible.   Members receive a summary of contributions on their January and February bills each year.
